If the web is going to state that Eldredge is open until 6PM that should be the case! Drove there just to fine the door locked and close sign posted. I hate to waste my gas!!

I have waited 4 months to write this review for a number of reasons. First I thought I would cool down, then I hoped that I would be able to find a benefit or silver lining in my experience with Eldredge Lumber. Unfortunately, that isn't the case. In September my wife ordered 2 tons of wood pellets from Eldredge based on the referral of a friend. I was busy with work so my wife took the initiative and requested Cubex (which we were told they had and we exclusively use). They confirmed that they didn't have Cubex, but in fact did have Canadian hardwood pellets identical to them- possibly Logix, they didn't know the name offhand (she spoke with 3 people, finally a manager who confirmed they did and would be happy to deliver them). Fast forward a week and they delivered 2 pallets of Maine Wood Pellets (a softwood junk pellet from Athens Maine, I know this because I grew up mere miles from the plant) at an exorbitant mark up. When my wife questioned the delivery the driver stated they were what she had ordered and would not return them. Long story short, the pellets have been terrible during one of the coldest winters in years (low heat, lots of ash, burn quickly). Icing on the cake is as I have reached the bottoms of the pallets all of the bags have been ripped and skewered by the forklift/pallet jack operator. My garage is covered in pellets, most of the bags are impossible to get into the house without falling apart, and pieces of cardboard, pallet and plastic are mixed into the bags- not something you want to get in your pellet stove auger. Long story short, they did a terrible job on every level, lied to their customer, and they should be avoided.
